Vet review this week and we’re pretty happy with the feedback! 💪
Mr P’s vet Rachel was really impressed with just how much the tendon had filled in and the improvement in the fibre alignment in light of the initial severity of the injury and timeframe. Watch the video below to hear what Rachel has to say. One of the reasons we love to work with the team from @performance.saddlefits is that their saddle fits incorporate so much more than just assessing how the saddle fits on the horse when it’s standing still. Take a listen to what Paula has to say regarding static versus dynamic saddle fit. Saddle fitting series part 2 Was Mr P an easy horse for Paula from @performance.saddlefits to fit? 😝 Check out part 2 of his saddle fitting consultation to find out! Saddle fitting series - part 1 You may have noticed we’ve started to ride Mr P, so today we thought we’d take you through his saddle fit journey. We have a number of videos to share with you over the coming week. Here’s part 1, where we introduce you to Paula Jeffery of Performance Saddlefits, who joined Mr P’s team to help us start this very important phase of his rehab Here are some of the recent ground exercises we’ve been doing with Mr P. At the moment we alternate between riding and ground work, to work on loading the tendon but also on developing overall muscle and posture in different ways. In this video we’ve combined long lining and lunging with using limb weights, alternating between the front and hind limbs. Here’s our most recent farrier consult with Erin Stevens. Take a look to see where we are at with his feet and Erin’s reasoning behind his treatment plan. Erin has been an absolute integral part of Mr P’s team and we honestly believe that his ongoing improvements in soundness are in large part due to Erin’s careful consideration of his hoof management. Erin takes his time with each and every consult, with his ultimate aim and concern being horse soundness and welfare. What do we look at in relation to a horse’s bars, what do we mean when we talk about a horse’s ‘smile’ and is the standard ‘2 crinkle rule’ the only one we should follow when fitting our horse’s bit? Learn about all of this in part 2 of our bit fitting consultation with Amanda from Bit Bank Australia |
