Biomechanics, fitness & performance

At Equimotion, we take pride in our rider performance and fitness programs, which have been developed by our experienced team of qualified professionals. What sets us apart is that our team are not only equestrians themselves, but also hold qualifications in physiotherapy, biomechanics, and exercise & sport science.

This unique combination of expertise allows us to design programs that are specifically tailored to the needs of riders, taking into account the physical demands of the sport, as well as the unique biomechanics involved in riding.

Biomechanical analysis of your riding and off-horse screening assessment
Our in depth sessions consist of thorough assessment of your body's strengths and limitations. These tests are tailored to what is important for riders and are specific to your discipline and goals. 
We then assess your riding position and alignment while you're on the horse. We discuss cues and techniques to make improvements while you ride and may trial exercises and equipment to help give you the feel for what we are working towards.


Tailored Exercise Program

​Receive a customised exercise program with both on and off horse exercises that will specifically target the areas for improvement found in the session. 
​These exercises are unique to you and your needs and may help improve your strength, mobility, coordination, and balance, helping to allow you and your horse to move as one.

Customised support to support every rider
  • Weekly 1:1 Exercise Sessions: Undertake personalised weekly exercise sessions, which can be either ridden or off-horse sessions or a combination of both. Regular sessions help to keep you accountable, check your technique and closely monitor your improvements.  
  • Monthly Check-ins: Stay on track with monthly check-ins, ensuring your progress aligns with your goals.
  • As Needed Support: Benefit from on-demand support, with progress check-ins tailored to your changing needs.​
Appointments available at Mangrove Mountain, Terrey Hills and online. Travel to other areas is available for groups/clinics.

Looking for a fun and effective way to reach your rider fitness goals? Sign up for our Small Group Training sessions and train with your friends!

With our Small Group Training sessions, you and your friends will:
  • receive individualised exercise programs developed by our expert sports science and physiotherapy team. 
  • be guided through each session, ensuring that you complete the exercises correctly and understand why each exercise is important for you as a rider.

Working out with friends can be a great source of motivation and accountability, and our Small Group Training sessions make it easy and affordable.

For the most benefit, we recommend pairing with an initial assessment with your physiotherapist. This will allow us to develop a personalised program that's tailored to your unique needs as a rider, so you can achieve your goals faster and more effectively.
